Today was a rather unexpected day. Last night, dad made the spontaneous decision to go to play in Malaysia for the day to get some practice in before he heads to Thailand in January to play the Thai Open. Interestingly, I was supposed to start gym training today to prepare for the winter polo league in Brookshire, TX in mid-January as well. However, when presented with the opportunity to play an 8 goal practice in Malaysia, I jumped at the chance!
Dad and I left Singapore at 1:30pm today and got to Malaysia at 2:30pm. Karen, the La Sarita manager and one of our closest friends, picked us up from the airport and we headed straight for the polo field. It was so good seeing some friends who I have not seen in 6 months and see the whole La Sarita organization again.
The game was a lot of fun and I scored four long-range goals, which I was quite pleased about as I am not known to be a big hitter. I feel that my hitting has become much bigger since the fall season in Houston and it was great playing with my dad and we combined very well for two of my goals.
I’m going back to Malaysia alone on Tuesday to play another practice and I’m really excited!
